Whistler Blackcomb has been having a less-than-stellar start to the ski season. If you do some digging, you’ll surely find video after video talking about how dire the situation is or how badly Whistler needs a miracle.

In reality, Canada’s largest ski resort is just one of many areas struggling to get a solid amount of snow on the ground this early season. But given Whistler’s popularity, less snow and less terrain can mean some pretty horrific lift lines where the lifts are actually spinning.

YouTuber Rise & Alpine shared some pretty nightmarish clips from the resort’s Creekside Gondola lift line. The video was posted to TikTok on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 26. Given the posting date and the fact that the day after Christmas is often one of the busiest ski days of the year, it’s safe to assume that this clip was taken that morning.

As for the line, according to the video’s caption, it manages to wind all the way back to Highway 99. Rise & Alpine doesn’t specifically state why the line is this bad, but some commenters shared their own experiences, with one explaining that opening delays because of the previous night’s blizzard near the upper mountain really sparked the wait.

Keep in mind, the Creekside Gondola line is probably one of the longest lines at Whistler. So it’s safe to assume that the line you’re about to see only lasted for a short time, and other lifts around the mountain were no where near as busy.

It is worth mentioning, based on Rise & Alpine’s most recent YouTube video, that Whistler got a fair chunk of snow in higher regions of the resort over the past few days. Skiing in Canada looks pretty sweet once again.
