With the world focused on winter sports I think it’s an apropos time to propose downhill hockey goalie skating as an official Olympic discipline. The following clip comes from the Red Bull Crashed Ice series where they install iced downhill race courses in cities generally north of the 45th parallel.  They run the races boardercross style….four at a time, bumping and jockeying on the way down.  Nice to see the net minders leave the crease and get a bit sendy. Anyone else wanna see goaltenders go downhill in Cortina 2026?

Red Bull Crashed Ice is an exhilarating and extreme winter sports event that combines elements of ice cross downhill, speed skating, and roller derby.
