Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is thrilled to announce the start of the 2023-24 winter season on Opening Day, Friday, November 24. The abundant snowfall from last season, which set a new record for Rendezvous Bowl, has provided ample excitement for the upcoming winter. The resort’s tireless snowmaking efforts have complemented Mother Nature’s generous snowfall totalling 62 inches at the summit and 33 inches at mid-mountain. This impressive coverage will give skiers and snowboarders plenty of terrain to explore when the season kicks off just after Thanksgiving.

This Opening Day marks the beginning of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s longest season ever. Lifts will be spinning until April 14, for a grand total of 143 days of winter fun.

Visitors can access a variety of beginner and intermediate terrain on Opening Day via two lifts: Teewinot and Après Vous. Early season conditions are to be expected and all guests are advised to stay out of closed areas and be aware of potential hazards.

JHMR is hopeful to announce additional terrain openings for the weekend of December 2-3.

“We’re ready to welcome our guests to our 2023-24 season at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on Opening Day!” exclaimed JHMR President Mary Kate Buckley. “Our continued investments in snowmaking, coupled with our grooming crews working around the clock, will support our opening on schedule this Friday, Nov. 24 at 9 a.m. Lift service will be limited, and we urge caution, as early season conditions exist. The weather forecast provides for cold temperatures, ideal for continued snowmaking and grooming and improved conditions.”

Enhanced Guest Experience Continues

For the fourth consecutive year in 2023-24, JHMR is continuing its efforts to enhance the guest experience on the mountain and throughout the resort. They will once again be limiting the sale of daily tickets in order to manage capacity.

JHMR emphasizes that daily ticket sales are limited and available for advance purchase, and that tickets may sell out. Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective pass holders are required to make reservations for lift access. JHMR recommends making reservations well in advance. Guests with a JHMR Winter 2023-24 Season Pass can ski or ride on any day indicated by their pass type. Others purchasing day passes are encouraged to do so in advance as they may sell out.

Inaugural Ski in Jeans Day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

To celebrate the new winter season, JHMR will host its first-ever Ski In Jeans Day on Saturday, December 9. In doing so, they are aiming to break the world record for most people skiing and riding in jeans. Who knew such a thing even existed? However, throughout the day, JHMR will offer $25 lift tickets to all guests. There will also be $25 performance equipment rentals, $100 off group lessons and live music to kick off the season and pay homage to the most iconic pants in the West.

Winter at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Begins

This Friday Jackson Hole Mountain Resort prepares to welcome skiers and snowboarders for the 2023-24 winter season. With its limited lift ticket sales, managed capacity and ongoing investments in snowmaking and grooming, it is clear the resort is committed to providing an exceptional experience for all guests. Consequently, visitors will have ample opportunities to enjoy the mountain’s legendary terrain. On top of that with events like Ski In Jeans Day, JHMR is also fostering a fun and welcoming atmosphere that will make this winter season one to remember.
