Schweitzer Resort in Idaho is now offering unlimited days with no blackouts for Ikon Pass holders (Ikon Base Pass access remains unchanged at 5 days). Since joining the Ikon Pass for the 21/22 season, Schweitzer had limited access for 7 days. The announcement of this change is on the heels of Alterra’s final closing of the purchase of Schweitzer.

Schweitzer pass holders may look to reconsider their pass choice. In their social media announcement, Schweitzer shared this information for their pass holders:

“We’re even working on an option that will allow you to refund your Schweitzer pass, and then purchase an Ikon Pass at a discounted rate. If you like your Schweitzer pass just the way it is, you don’t have to do anything and there are no changes to your existing access or pass holder perks. We’ll reach out to you by October with more details.”

Meanwhile, Schweitzer is still full steam ahead on their village improvements. Current upgrades are scheduled for completion across 2023 and 2024. Here’s what is currently in flight:

  • A pedestrian/skier bridge across Schweitzer Creek.
  • The replacement of the Musical Chairs double chairlift.
  • A new 1,400-space parking lot.
  • A road connecting the parking lot to the roundabout.
  • New employee housing with 84 units.
