We are nearing the conclusion of the United States 2022-23 ski season. Mammoth’s season ended on Sunday. This means that there’s only one outdoor lift-serviced ski resort left open in the United States: Timberline Lodge in Oregon. Unfortunately, the Oregon ski resort’s season is ultimately having its curtain call.

Yesterday, Timberline Lodge announced that their projected closing date is Sunday, August 13th. This date could change depending on the weather and diminishing snowpack. Currently, the Magic Mile and Palmer chairlifts are operating for skiers and snowboarders. The Palmer webcam currently shows a minimal snowpack on the Willis trail, so the ski resort’s imminent closure isn’t a surprise.

In spite of closing for the winter season, Timberline will still have its impressive mountain biking park open through the summer and fall. In addition, they’re working on renovating their historic pool at the hotel. If you want to ski, you’ll have to make a trip to an indoor ski resort in New Jersey.
