A professional fisherman named Matthew Gorne had a heart-stopping encounter with a great white shark while kayaking off the coast of Port Augusta, South Australia and the incident was caught on his GoPro camera.

Despite the terrifying situation, both Matthew and the shark remained surprisingly composed as the majestic creature swam gracefully beneath and around his kayak. However, the calm atmosphere was shattered when the shark suddenly leaped out of the water, lunging at Matthew’s paddle.

Thankfully, the shark quickly swam away, and Matthew continued paddling, a bit shaken but otherwise unharmed.
