The past few years at Massanutten Resort in Virginia have resulted in a lot of changes.  In 2021, they added a new magic carpet lift and repurposed their beginner area. Last summer, they added a new intermediate and advanced trail. This offseason, they’re replacing the Peak Quad with a detachable high-speed quad chairlift and they’re also adding a new double black diamond. Finally, next summer will see two new trails.

Last Wednesday, Massanutten provided the latest update to construction, with all signs pointing towards them completing the project soon. The lift terminals, towers, and haul rope are installed, and they’re starting to put the chairs on the lift line. An official opening date has yet to be announced, but it’s obviously on track to be spinning during the 2023-24 season. Their old chairlift, the Peak Quad, has been moved to Holiday Mountain Ski & Fun Park in New York and will be reinstalled in 2024.
