Ladies and gentlemen, the time is finally here. The much loved Colorado restaurant Casa Bonita, officially has a reopening date. That’s right, the incredibly pink, waterfall filled Mexican restaurant is back as of Friday, June 23, with fully new owners.

If you haven’t been paying much attention, the long awaited return and media frenzy surrounding Casa Bonita began when South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone purchased the restaurant in 2021. Since then, we’ve learned of their new head chef, three-time James Beard award nominee Dana Rodriguez, and the restaurant’s effort to hire for 500 jobs, including that of cliff divers.

Opening dates have been fairly vague, however, with an announcement originally stating that the public would be invited in at some point in May of 2023. It’s now June, obviously, but the delay wasn’t too long, as members of Casa Bonita’s email list were given the ability to purchase timed-entry tickets for dates between June 23-24 and June 29-July 1. The only way to gain entrance, for now, is with one of those timed-entry tickets.

According to 9News, tickets cost $39.99 for adults and $24.99 for children aged three to twelve. Tickets were limited at eight per group, and they’re non-refundable and non-transferable, so you shouldn’t be seeing too many scalpers trying to make money off of these (I’m sure they’ll find a way). One ticket gives includes an entrée, soft drink, and sopapillas, with alcoholic beverages available for an additional cost.

Is $39.99 a bit pricy for one meal? Absolutely. But the ticket isn’t just for the meal. It’s for the experience. It’s for the cliff divers, the dude in the gorilla suit, the live music, the gun fights, and so so much more. Plus, then you get to brag about how you were at Casa Bonita on one of the first few days of its reopening. I think that’s worth it.
