27-year-old Norwegian freestyle skier Christian Nummedal is stepping away from competition circuit after after a highly successful career competing at the World Cup, Winter X Games, and the Olympics. Nummedal may be removing the bib but he plans to keep skiing and explore other aspects of the sport. Wishing Christian a happy retirement as he begins the next chapter of his life:
After 7 years I have decided to step away from the Norwegian national team and competitive skiing. It’s been a wild ride, with tons of joy, friendships and memories that I’m forever grateful for.
Huge thanks to Freeskilandslaget and every single one that I’ve got to travel the world with for so many years. Exited to figure out life beside skiing, but I’m without doubt gonna keep on shredding, have fun and explore some other aspects of skiing in a looot of years to come.
Another big thanks to family, friends, sponsors and everyone that has been supporting and cheering for me during all these years. It has meant the world!
