“For Tessa Treadway and her nine-year-old son Kasper, who lost husband and father Dave Treadway to a backcountry skiing accident in 2019, mountain biking has helped move them through grief.

For Kasper, it’s a hyper-focused outlet for his errant energy. For Tessa, it’s a break from the chaos of single motherhood, as she discovers the surprise gift of joy that flows from chasing her oldest son.”

Here’s a nice video to finish off your day. If you don’t already follow the Treadway’s Instagram page, freerange.family, make sure to go check it out. Dave Treadway was a pretty remarkable skier (and Tessa is a remarkable skier), so it’s nice to see the family continuing to push the limits in some pretty awesome sports. The way Kasper is riding now, I wouldn’t be shocked if we saw him pushing the limits professionally in a few years.
