Alta and Snowbird ski resorts announced an immediate interlodge due to avalanche danger. All outside travel in the area is restricted and everyone is ordered to stay indoors until the order is lifted.

People have been instructed not to stay in their cars. KUTV reports road closures have been expanded to include upper Little Cottonwood Canyon to remain closed until Saturday morning.

As a reminder, disobeying the interlodge mandate a Class B Misdemeanor with penalties up to $1,000 and six months in jail.
