MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN, California – Mammoth Mountain intends to stay open for at least three more weeks, with plans to close no earlier than Memorial Day, May 27th. But this creeping projected closing date doesn’t mean the snow has stopped falling.

Eight of 24 lifts are still spinning at the California resort, providing access to a total of 82 open trails. But, more importantly, Mammoth saw a healthy 10 inches of snowfall over the past three days, adding even more to their season total. Right now, the base of the mountain has a snow depth of 65 inches, while the summit is sitting at 100 inches. Overall, Mammoth has received 367″ throughout the whole season.

Unfortunately there’s no more snow forecasted for the next few days, but sunny spring weather will certainly make for some sweet spring skiing action. This Saturday, May 11, Mammoth is hosting their previously postponed Unbound Party in the Park. The current “projected final” weekend at the resort, Memorial Day Weekend, brings the yachts to the mountains for the Mammoth Yacht Club.
