Well that’s something I never expected to see…telemark skiers in speed suits ripping free heeled down a World Cup course. Categorized under “Other Disciplines” on the FIS official website, telemark ski racing is indeed a sanctioned sport with multiple World Cup events held throughout the winter. The course was pretty wild. From what I gather, competitors finish off at the bottom in a 360 banked turn to flatland sprint across the finish line.
