Mt. Bachelor’s Northwest Chairlift is out of commission following a gearbox hose burst late Saturday. Officials say the repairs should take a few days and the resort is being super careful to ensure the spilled liquid is cleaned up properly to avoid environmental impacts (good on ya Mt. Bachelor). Bad timing for a malfunction on one of the resorts most popular lifts as the sun poked out Monday and snow conditions are great, but we encourage guests to be patient and recognize that mitigating the effects of spilled industrial fluids takes time and has to be done carefully and thoroughly.
