The world’s best snow sculptors have congregated in Breckenridge to kick off a week of snow sculpting at the 32nd annual International Snow Sculpture Championship in Breckenridge. 12 international teams will compete in the championship coming from places like Italy, Lithuania, Switzerland and the good old USA! Teams are comprised of four individuals who have 65 hours to transform 25-ton, 12′ tall blocks of snow into masterpieces. Teams are only allowed to use hand tools to fashion their pieces (no power tools allowed). If you’re in Breck, head on down and check out their work…seriously impressive what these folks can make:
Breckenridge’s International Snow Sculpture Championships presented by Toyota is a world renowned snow sculpting competition where teams from around the world descend on Breckenridge, Colorado to hand-carve 25-ton blocks of snow into enormous, intricate works of art. Artists are only allowed to use hand tools, creativity and inspiration to bring their ideas to life. No power tools allowed! Teams sculpt countless hours across five days (totaling around 94 hours), resulting in a temporary outdoor art gallery in historic downtown Breckenridge!

The sculpture viewing area will be closed at 7:00pm on February 1st.
The weekend of viewing, Friday, Jan. 27 – Sunday, Jan. 29, is historically the most-popular time for sculpture viewing. To help ensure the best environment for artists and viewers timed entry reservations will be required ONLY on Saturday, Jan. 28. There is no cost for a timed entry, but availability is limited. Spectators can sign up for a Saturday sculpture viewing at 10:00am, 12:00pm or 2:00pm.
We encourage spectators to view the sculptures Sunday, Jan. 29 – Wednesday, Feb. 1 when reservations are not required. MORE INFO HERE.
