Ukrainian refugees are finding work far from home at Sleeping Giant Ski Area in Wyoming. They have fled a very bad situation and have landed in America’s heartland skiing in the Rocky Mountains.

One such refugee is Galina Matsyakh. She is working at the ski resort through the State Department’s United for Ukraine refugee sponsorship program which she found though a friend.

She said she had not skied before arriving in Wyoming. She now works in the lodge at Sleeping Giant.

She told ktvq.com “Here we just feel like, at home. Why? Because it’s quiet, a lot of kind people who want to help us, really, it’s important for us. And here…safety,” she said.
