First question- why isn’t mono-skiing more popular?

Slashing deep snow on a wide mono-ski looks as fun as ripping a powder board, so why don’t more people go mono-skiing?

The answer isn’t clear, but MONOSKIS SNOWGUNZ, a company based in Chamonix, France, is doing their best to make sure that the sport of mono-skiing lives on.

The company sells a wide range of mono-skis including an entire lineup of split mono-skis that can be used for touring in the backcountry.

Here’s a demo of how the gear works:

Pretty nifty, right? Definitely similar to a splitboard, and looks fairly easy to transition from touring to skiing mode.

The videos below show mono-skiers using the split setups out in the backcountry. Looks like a f*&%ing blast.

Should one of us at Unofficial Networks buy one of these setups? Is that content that you would want to watch?

Let us know, because my interest is more than peaked just based on the novelty alone.

Stay tuned if I actually end up getting one. I’ll be sure to let you know.
