“On snow day I always wished the bike lanes were clear. That’s probably what started the idea in my mind.” –Phil Marciniak

Tip of the cap to Phil Marciniak of Saanich, British Columbia who used his skills as an appliance repairman to create a bike mounted snowplow to clear the bike paths of his hometown. The CBC reports after several prototype iterations, Marciniak has landed on attaching two shovels angled outward to plywood mounted onto the front of his electric cargo bike.

While Marciniak isn’t not certain his bike plow design could be a viable option for large scale bike path snow removal, he enjoys it and might consider clearing paths on request if people sweetened the deal:

“I will plow for food, definitely.”
