Downright scary near miss at Woodward Park City where a skier almost got t-boned by a snowboarder blasting full speed down a groomer next to the jump line.

Obviously the downhill skier right of way rule is boilerplate in the skier responsibility code, but it’s also worth mentioning that we should always ski defensively and use common sense when merging from spots obscured from above (look uphill).

Not going to knock the park builders but looks like there’s a ton of tracks that take that exact same path onto the groomer and the likelihood for collisions seems apparent. Perhaps a rope line would be in order?

An impact at the speeds seen in this video could be tragic. Glad this was a near miss and not a direct hit.
