Another housing gem has entered the Aspen real estate market. This 15,235-square-foot property is the largest home that’s currently available in the Aspen area and comes with a price tag of $35 million. The seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home features direct views of the four ski resorts that make up Aspen-Snowmass. The house features a fitness center, movie theater, three-car garage, wood-burning fireplace, chef’s kitchen, and more.

The seller is billionaire Eddie Lampert, who is partially responsible for the demise of Sears and K-Mart. The home is owned by a limited partnership that the former CEO and Chairman of Sears Holdings is the head honcho of. In 1998, he bought the mansion for a total of $5.5 million, so selling it could recoup some cash he lost by sending Sears and K-Mart into their respective nosedives.

I like the architectural details of the home, but it’s pretty far away from the ski resorts. The closest mountain is Buttermilk, which is around nineteen minutes away.

You can view the listing here, and some photos of the property are below.
