Rejoice Tahoe snow sliders…Mt. Rose just announced the will start spinning lifts Friday. Looks like they will just be open for weekend operations with limited terrain until further notice but it pays to have Tahoe’s highest base elevation (8,260′):
“There’s no day like a Mt. Rose Snow Day! We are opening to the top for the weekend, this Friday through Sunday, from 9 am to 4 pm! We will be running Northwest Express and the Wizard Beginner Lift, offering access to most of the beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain on the Main Lodge side of the mountain. All parking will be at the Main Lodge, and services will include the Lodgepole Cafe, Timbers Bar, and Tuning Center, with season lease pick-up available. The Lodge will open at 8 am.”

OPENING FRIDAY, NOV 11
Lifts: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Main Lodge: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

LIFTS EXPECTED:

  1. Northwest Express 6
  2. Wizard Beginner Lift

TRAILS EXPECTED:
The Majority of runs from the main lodge should be available

PARKING:
All parking will be at the Main Lodge

SERVICES:
The Mt. Rose Main lodge will be open

  • Lodgepole Café
  • Timbers Bar
  • Tuning Center
  • Season Lease pick-up Available

Ski School will begin Operations on Nov 19.
Expect Snowmaking to be in progress.

NOTE: Mt. Rose Will Be CLOSED MIDWEEK (Mon – Fri) – REOPENING NOV 19

Mt. Rose does have significant advantages which typically will allow us to be of the first resorts open in Lake Tahoe:

  • Tahoe’s Highest Base = 8260’ Base Elevation
  • Ideal Aspect: Mostly North & East facing runs
  • Robust Snowmaking: Rose can pour on the firepower when conditions allow (below-freezing temps at night  w/ low humidity)

Snowmaking has started, and we’re cranking up the guns at every opportunity!
