Being a lift operator at a ski area is one of the more challenging jobs in the industry. The early wake-ups, random maintenance issues that arise, clearing of the surroundings of ice and other obstacles, and accidents during loading and unloading make it difficult at times. Still, it comes with many perks, like a season pass, the ability to chill out during the more mellow periods, and the opportunity to shred during your work breaks. You can take it from me, as I got to run a rope tow and t-bar for multiple winters over at Proctor Ski Area in New Hampshire, and I was a liftie over at Snowbird for a season.
