Lorna Greenway is an experienced hiker who recently moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was out hiking on a new trail when she realized that she was lost.

As night began to fall and temperatures began to plummet, she called her husband on her dying cellphone. He got in touch with the volunteer group Albuquerque Mountain Rescue, and they dispatched a team to find Lorna.

Greenway was rescued and eventually led off the hill some 16 hours after she first began her hike.

She shared her story and expressed how thankful she was with KRQE:

Shout out to the mountain rescue teams across the world. You risk your well-being to save others, and we’re eternally grateful.
