The surroundings around the top of the American Eagle lift at Copper Mountain Resort will have a different look in the Fall of 2023. A new 25,000-square-foot mid-mountain lodge, which has been under construction since 2019, will open during the Fall of 2023. Some of the amenities of this immense two-story facility will include a restaurant, a full-service bar, a lounge, a cafeteria with extensive seating, a coffee shop, and 270-degree views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. It will be named The Aerie, which is defined as the nest of a bird of prey, like an eagle, so it matches the lift that’s located right next to it.
In a video update from yesterday, Graeme Bilenduke, the Director of Development & Property Services, gave details on the next steps for constructing the building. After a hiatus, construction resumed in June and will continue on the interior and exterior throughout the 2022-23 season. Copper is currently scheduled to open for the season on November 14th.
