Did you know that a baby mountain goat is simply called a ‘kid’?
Kind of strange, right? You’d think there would be a more specific name for them like other species of the animal kingdom.
The video below shows a mountain goat and her kid blocking a hiking trail within Glacier National Park, MT. The video’s title says that the goats came down from a nearby cliff to “visit the tourists”.

It’s hard to tell what happened before the camera started rolling, but it’s refreshing to see that the majority of the tourists eventually backed away to give the animals their space.
However, they should have backed away as soon as they saw the animals. Crowing around for pics and videos is dangerous.
Glacier National Park requires guests to give mountain goats 50 yards of space whenever possible.
