“Imagine winning the Tour de France. Now imagine doing that without any of the perks — no mechanics, no hotels, no crew at all….in sandals.”

Meet Lachlan Morton, the Australian pro-cyclist who did something quite remarkable last summer to raise awareness for World Bicycle Relief, a nonprofit that finds bicycles for people in need. Lachlan dubbed his quest the ‘Alt Tour de France’ and achieved his goal by riding 200 miles a day, beating the entire pack by 5 days time, all this while wearing sandals. All in all he rode an incredible 3417 miles in just 17 days, raising more than $688K. Check out the story of his journey and if you’re inspired to contribute to his cause, please donate to HERE:
