In 2023, Wild Mountain will make its most significant lift investment in decades. The Minnesota ski area announced Monday that they will replace Chair 3 with a new Sytrac quad chairlift. The lift will serve as the primary lift outside of the base lodge, with Chair 2 will be a secondary lift for summer operations and high-capacity days during the winter. The new Chair 3 will be the first lift investment at the ski area in forty years.

So far this offseason, they have cleared trees between Ego Alley and the Wild trails and will complete this process in August. A site survey in August will help prepare for the manufacturing and construction of the lift that will occur next summer. The new lift will be erected in 2023, and the old Chair 3 will be removed once the new lift is constructed. The old chairs will be available for purchase next summer.

The chairlift is expected to open during the 2023-24 season. Some photos of the new chairlift and the construction done so far are below.
