Super stoked Yellowstone’s southern loop is back open to visitors but if you’re thinking of taking a trip out you need to be aware of the new system they’v put in place to limit the amount of vehicles in the park so as not to overwhelm the partially opened roadways. It’s called the Alternating License Plate System or ALPS for short. It can be slightly confusing but Yellowstone put out an easy to follow guide you can find below. Make sure to check it out and plan accordingly⬇⬇⬇

Planning to visit us soon? Make sure you know about our Alternating License Plate System (ALPS)!  Here’s the short version – to gain entry into Yellowstone, you will need to check your license plate number:
– If the last numerical digit on your license plate is an ODD number or contains ALL LETTERS, you will be eligible to enter the park on ODD calendar days.
– If the last numerical digit on your license plate is an EVEN number, you will be eligible to enter the park on EVEN calendar days.

There are a few exceptions to this general rule, so scroll through our post and visit go.nps.gov/YELLflood for even more information and FAQ’s about the ALPS. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this unprecedented event together!
