It’s hard to believe, considering the numerous warm spells and rain that swept through New England this season, but skiing will continue in Northern Vermont for at least one more weekend.

Jay Peak announced yesterday that they will be open Saturday, April 30th, and Sunday May 1st, and hinted that there might be even more bonus weekends added.

Jay has picked up a substantial amount of snow in the month of April, and has totaled 303 inches of snow this season.

Not too shabby, eh?

Here is Jay’s snow report that was posted yesterday:

“UPDATE: Snowsports will be CLOSED for skiing and riding this week (Monday-Friday) with plans to reopen at Stateside for the weekend (4/30 + 5/1). There will be no more skier services out of Tramside this season. We hope to have the Jet, Bonnie, Taxi, and Stateside Carpet all spinning next weekend. Will we make it to Mothers Day? If we have decent snow conditions (and it looks likely that we will), we will reopen again for the weekend of May 7 & 8. Stand by for updates… “

I hope you Vermonters are enjoying the spring snow. I will be living vicariously through you over the next couple of weekends.

I’ve already transitioned to bike and running season, but I’ll certainly be wishing I was skiing instead.

Have fun out there, friends!
