New Indy Pass Partner Sunlight Mountain Resort in Colorado just finished off a historic season. The Aspen Times reports that revenue this season was up 10% from last season, which was previously their highest-earning year. Visitation didn’t reach the numbers they saw in the 1990s, but it was their best turnout in the past couple of decades. This was in spite of the mountain seeing a later than usual opening in December and getting only 161 inches of snow.
In the article, the mountain announced two lift replacements that will be happening in the near future. The Segundo lift will be replaced by a fixed-grip triple that recently went on sale from Arapahoe Basin(likely the Lenawee Triple). Construction will begin this summer, the Segundo lift will be removed in the summer of 2023, and the new lift will open in the 2023-24 season. The Primo lift will also be replaced eventually, although they didn’t give a definitive date as to when that will happen. The mountain will host various events this summer, like a triathlon in June, an archery competition in July, a disc golf event during Labor Day Weekend, and a fundraiser by U.S. Marine Corps veteran Kirstie Ennis in October.
