Since 1988, the White Peaks Express Quad has whisked skiers up the majority of Waterville Valley. The lift celebrated its last day of service on Sunday, as they now prepare for an impressive replacement. In its place will be a high-speed six-pack bubble chair that is being built by the MND Group and with chairs that are being made by Porsche Design Studios. The six-minute ride will go one thousand feet a minute, carry 3200 skiers/riders an hour, and it will have a total length of 5700 feet. For the rest of Waterville’s season, the summit will be accessed by the Sunnyside and Northside lift. Waterville posted a video of the lifts closing and the removal of the last chair, which you can see below.

Although they have not officially announced it yet, Waterville Valley is also planning on adding a t-bar lift to replace the World Cup and Exhibition lifts for this upcoming season.
