What a week it’s been for Killington. They didn’t get a lot of breaks weather-wise in March, but over a foot of fresh snow on Sunday and Monday replenished its base for the pivotal spring stretch. With snowmaking efforts and this new fresh snow, conditions are going to be prime for this weekend.

Over at K-1, their old base lodge closed on March 20th for the last time to prepare for their lodge that will be double the size of its predecessor. The resort auctioned off memorabilia from the old lodge, raising $20,000 for the Red Crosses Ukraine relief efforts. These past couple of weeks, excavation work has begun to demolish their old digs. The video from Killington below shows a Kat Excavator wreaking havoc on the walls of the old K-1 Lodge.

In terms of snowmaking efforts, they are heavily focused on making the Superstar glacier as massive as possible for Spring skiing. Their main priorities have been on making snow on Superstar and at the various base areas. With this early Spring snowmaking push, it looks like Killington is primed for April and May skiing at the very least.
