Me, watching that terrible commercial happen in real-life

I wrote a blog a couple of weeks ago about how that VISA commercial that ran every 2-minutes during the Olympics was nightmare fuel. I just couldn’t watch it without experiencing high levels of anxiety, and turns out A LOT of you agreed with me.

You know the one I’m talking about, right? It shows thousands of skiers descending a trail at the same time. Click here to check out the video and the blog if you need a refresher.

Anyways, I was scrolling through Instagram this morning when I stumbled across a real-life recreation of that stupid commercial. I couldn’t believe my eyes, but there it was… Dozens of skiers dotting the same narrow trail. It made me want to throw up…

Check it out for yourself, but warning. The contents are extremely graphic.

Okay, I’m obviously be overdramatic, but isn’t that video still hard to watch? It’s borderline painful. I love skiing as much as the next guy, but I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near a mountain if it was this crowded.

I’m really starting to understand why backcountry skis are selling like hotcakes these days…

So, where was this taken?

Well, based on the hashtags, I’m assuming it was either at Snow Summit or Big Bear Mountain in Southern California. I’m not familiar with either of those mountains, so maybe one of you can help me identify this trail.

I hope none of you are ever cursed with crowds like this. Be safe out there!
