The tough breaks for Big SNOW American Dream continue. NJ.com reports that the indoor ski area is still closed indefinitely due to logistical constraints and global manufacturing delays. An electrical fire on the roof of the slope back in September closed the ski area, and it hasn’t reopened since. The retail and rental shop has reopened though, and they are still working diligently on getting the indoor ski area open as soon as possible. While this is certainly a bummer, it’s not the worst time to be closed, as winter brings most guests to the surrounding outdoor ski areas and not to the Meadowlands. The indoor ski area opened in 2019 with three slopes and multiple lifts. The sixteen-story building is 180,000 square feet, and the temperature is consistently set to 28 degrees Fahrenheit.

The American Dream Mall has had a troubled history. It took nearly two decades to construct, went through multiple owners, and much of the facility is still very much vacant. The Mall is currently owned by the Triple Five Group, which also owns the Mall of America and the West Edmonton Mall. The mall currently features an indoor water park themed to Dreamworks, a theme park themed to Nickelodeon, an indoor ski area, an Angry Birds mini-golf courses, shops, restaurants, and more. On the bright side, the American Dream will be opening its high-rising Ferris Wheel soon, giving great views of the local New York City area.
