You don’t have to be out in the field to start detecting visual evidence avalanche dangers, just take it from Glen Plake who took to Instagram to point out a obvious signs of wind slab activity in Mammoth Mountain’s parking lot and perhaps to teach a friendly lesson to those parking cars during a snow event. Glen advises folks be patient and safe in conditions like this:
“Respect my parking cones. You don’t have to be out in the field to see great examples of mountain hazards. the mountains and the snow aren’t going anywhere tooo fast….. so no reason to be in a hurry after a storm cycle like this.”
