Red Bull Snow has started a new series that documents the insanity of up-and-coming skier Eileen Gu‘s life. Gu is only 18-years-old (17 when this was filmed). She’s a fashion model, a skier, a student, and a regular teenager.
I loved the behind-the-scenes look at Gu’s practice heading into her monumental X Games performance last season in the video below. No spoilers, but she went on to win 2 gold medals, and a bronze at Aspen.
Gu is set to be the next big thing in skiing, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she joins the ranks of Lindsey Vonn and Shaun White someday as winter sports athletes that have transcended into popular culture.
