One of my favorite things about this job at Unofficial Networks is that I spend a large portion of my day searching for videos that fly under-the-radar as being absolutely hilarious.

You might think, ‘But Matt, the video you’ve embedded is just a random remote news piece from a small news station in Pennsylvania’ You’re absolutely right, and there’s something gold-mine quotes littered throughout it. Let me set the stage:

Pennsylvania’s Blue Mountain Resort has opened despite downright miserable early-season conditions. It’s been warm, it’s rained, and dense fog was blanketing the slopes on the day this news crew was filming. But, that didn’t stop these people from flooding the slopes on what looks like conditions from hell, and I respect the hell out of them for it.

All of the skiers and riders interviewed took their opportunity to tell the camera just how shitty conditions are, but they still proceeded to ski down the slopes over and over again.

Those are some true skiers and snowboarders, and it’s why “Ski The East” is more than a brand. It’s a way of life. Skiing is skiing. People in the east will show up to ski even if it’s 55 degrees out, there’s a million people clogging up the 4 trails open, the snow is absolute dog shit, and it’s so foggy that you can’t see the tips of your skis. That’s commitment. That’s passion!

Now, don’t you Rocky Mountain people who were complaining last week about bad snow conditions (before the current storm dumped more snow on your resorts than Blue Mountain, PA will see all year) feel pretty damn silly?
