Excellent news for all you skiers and snowboarders in the great state of Arizona…Snowbowl is opening for operations today. Only expert terrain will be available for now accessed by the Arizona Gondola. Anyone going to hit the slopes and then sit down for a turkey dinner? Gobble, Gobble.

Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks, Arizona Snowbowl is just 7 miles outside of Flagstaff, Arizona, 2 hours from Phoenix, and 70 miles from the Grand Canyon. The resort opened in 1938 and is one of the oldest continually operated ski areas in the country.
The slopes at Arizona Snowbowl have undergone some impressive transformations in recent years. As a part of a multi-mountain capital improvement campaign, over the past five years, Arizona Snowbowl welcomed the expanded snowmaking infrastructure, first new chairlift in 30 years – Humphreys Peak Quad (in 2015-16), Arizona’s first high-speed six-person lift – Grand Canyon Express (in 2016-17)l Hart Prairie Quad lift (ready for winter 2017-18) and new for winter 2020-21, the Arizona Gondola high-speed combination lift which replaces the former Agassiz lift.
Arizona Snowbowl features 55 trails, eight lifts, three terrain parks, state-of-the-art snowmaking, on-mountain dining options, and lodging at Basecamp at Snowbowl. With a peak elevation of 11,500 feet and average of 260 inches of snowfall, Arizona Snowbowl is a true gem of the Southwest ski scene.
