The Utah Department of Transportation installed a $5 million wildlife bridge in Parley’s Canyon back in 2018 to allow animals to safely cross above busy I-80. The state was inspired by successful wildlife bridges in Canada, and made the significant investment in an effort to keep animals and motorists safe.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources shared this awesome video that has captured all walks of life crossing the bridge in the the three years it has been in use. Everything from deer, moose, bears, and mountain lions have been captured using the bridge to safely cross the canyon.

Here’s to hoping the Parley’s Canyon wildlife bridge will inspire other areas to install similar structures. It’s really a win-win all-around. Less animals will be killed, and less humans will be seriously injured or killed as a result!
