I’ve been thinking about this question for years now, and I don’t think anybody has described it better than pro skier Drew Petersen’s loose translation of a French saying in the beginning of the video below- “An orgasm so big that it feels like the whole world explodes”.
While hilarious, I really think that encapsulates the feeling of making a ‘perfect’ turn on the mountain. There really isn’t a precise way to show or demonstrate a perfect turn, but you know it when you feel it.
I loved this video from Salomon TV, and it’s getting me amped up to get back out on the mountain this winter. I’m also going to take Emma Patterson’s quote to heart this season-
“The best skier on the mountain is the one having the most fun.”
