An iconic mountain biking landmark is for sale in Steamboat Springs, CO. The unique cone-shaped building that housed Moots Bicycles and Sore Saddle Cyclery is for sale for $2.4 Million. Moots Bicycles is a historic brand that has been crafting bikes since the 1980s and is responsible for countless timeless titanium frames and an early full suspension bike in 1987.

According to an article in Sky Hi News, the building that housed Moots and Sore Saddle Cyclery has quite the history.

The cone-shaped building was once an incinerator for the lumber industry in town. Kent Eriksen and Bruce Alston purchased the cone-shaped building for $1. Then, Eriksen and one of his mechanics used cutting torches to cut the cone into multiple sections. The sections of the building were transported by truck to 136 Yampa Street where they were reassembled. Moots and Sore Saddle Cyclery operated in this space through the glory years. After changes in ownership, Moots was relocated to a different location in Steamboat in 1995 and Sore Saddle Cyclery ceased operations in 2005.

The building, which now houses Orange Peel Bicycle Service and additional businesses is for sale. If you have a cool $2.4 million sitting around this is your chance to own a piece of mountain biking history.
