A student pilot had the scare of a lifetime when his plane’s engine completely lost power while he was at a fairly high altitude. Pretty surreal to watch the plane’s RPM gauge drop dramatically and listen to his communications with the flight controller.
Seems like he did everything right by communicating with the tower and finding a place to safely land in. He would have been really SOL if there weren’t all of those wide open fields in the area.
