Did you know there’s hordes of wriggly little worms living in the glaciers of the Northwest and no one knows how they survive the harsh winters? Even if you frequently hike or ski these mountains, you have never seen an ice worm because they only come to the surface at certain times of the year, at certain times of day. Only in 2021 are scientists beginning to unlock the mysteries of glacier ice worms which are the largest organism on Earth that spend their whole life cycle in ice.
