I-70 at Glenwood Canyon has been closed for over a week after a devastating mudslide covered lanes in both directions. Colorado’s Governor has declared a state of emergency for the area to obtain federal funding as it’s causing an all-around headache for the state’s tourism travel.

CDOT shared an update on the cleanup process and it’s got people feeling hopeful that the road will reopen soon. There’s still a lot of work left to do, but it’s reassuring to see CDOT openly sharing their progress with their social media followers.

Here’s to hoping the Glenwood Canyon mudslide gets cleaned up quickly so Coloradans and tourists can get their lives back to normal.
