Youtuber The Bearded Explorer toured an impressive abandoned skiing facility in England back in September 2020. The Bracknell Ski Centre shut down permanently following the Covid-19 shutdowns came into effect in the UK, and has since fallen into severe disrepair. The ski hill was a dry slope, meaning a artifical surface allowed people to ski and board, but it was never covered with snow due to its location in Southern England. The ski centre is in the outskirts of the large town of Reading, and is about an hour drive west of London. Opened in 1985, the hill featured an artificial ski slope with a chairlift and surface lift, an Olympic sized ice skating rink, snow tubing, an alpine slide, and more activities. The ski centre was also feature in the film Eddie the Eagle. The video also features pretty intense sledding sessions down the synthetic ski slope.

It’s a bit mental innit?
