You might think grass skiing was just a fad in the mid-to-late 20th century, but there are still plenty of grass ripping loonies over in Europe.
Grass Skiing is still an FIS-recognized discipline, and the Grass World Cup still holds a number of events in multiple countries.
I know what some of you are thinking, “This isn’t as cool as snow skiing” , and while you’re right, I’ll respond by saying WHO CARES!
These guys are actually carving pretty hard through a slalom course at fairly decent speeds considering they’re attached to tank-tracked roller skates on grass. Insane.
Whoever thought of this sport is either stupid, genius, or both!
I’ve been watching too many grass skiing clips lately and I’m starting to get antsy. Anybody know where I can get my hands on a pair of these and try them out?
I feel like it would be an absolute blast to ride these at a small midwestern or eastern ski area.
