Really digging these skis put out but this high school technology teacher up in Buffalo, NY.  Jonathan Capozzi spent the last three years researching, designing and building a ski press so he make his own creations using sustainable materials native to his area.  Buffalo Magazine reports Capozzi is big supporter of  in local and American-made products, all but one of the many materials that comprise Old Growth Ski Co. skis are made in the U.S.

“The skis are built with locally and sustainably harvested ash and poplar lumber. All of the composite layers are manufactured in the USA. The veneer top sheets come from Certainly Wood, a veneer supplier in South Wales. They have a great team of people there, are a family owned local business and the salesman I work with is a neighbor.”

I’m Jonathan Capozzi, the guy behind Old Growth Ski Company. Born and raised in Western New York, I have always enjoyed creating things. From building ramps and dirt jumps as a teenager, to building canoes, furniture, and skis as an adult, ski building has been an exciting and engaging process to learn and improve and continue my lifelong passion for creating the items I love to enjoy. Old Growth comes from a desire to be completely engaged in every step of the process. I love to create, I love to be outside, and I love to go skiing.
