Sugar Mountain has announced that a new Dopplemayr fixed-grip quad will replace the original Big Birch triple chairlift that services the eastern side of the resort.

The new chairlift marks the fourth lift installation in just six years, according to HCPress.com.

The new lift doubles in speed from the old lift, and increases the uphill capacity at the resort from 11,270 passengers per hour to 11,660 passengers per hour.

Looks like Sugar Mountain is setting out to dramatically improve the resort by increasing the uphill capacity of their chairlifts. I’m sure it will be a welcomed sight next season!
