“The fall has looked dramatic for us and we are now relieved after the first diagnosis that Daniel’s injuries are not life threatening.” – Clas Brede Brathen

27-year-old Norwegian Olympic gold medal winning ski jumper Daniel-Andre Tande was seriously injured today in a horrific crash. Thankfully it is being reported his injuries are not life threatening. ESPN reports the fall happened at a competition in Slovenia where he lost control midair and landed very awkwardly hundreds of feet down slope. Tande was unconscious when the medical team arrived and had to be intubated and mechanically ventilated after he was loaded into the ambulance. Doctors have released a statement that preliminary tests are very promising and will continue to monitor Tande and repeat vital tests on Friday. Our thoughts are with Daniel-Andre Tande.
