The Vancouver Sun is reporting that a skier and snowboarder were rescued by helicopter after the pair had become stranded in Tony Baker Gully near Cypress Mountain Resort in BC, Canada.

The two had ventured into the backcountry after riding a lift at Cypress Mountain on Saturday afternoon.

They were reported missing by one of their girlfriends at 10 PM Saturday night.

The two were rescued after 10+ hours of efforts by North Shore Rescue.

Officials stated that the avalanche risk was high and visibility was poor for most of the day.

The missing skier and rider were found by helicopter when visibility improved around 4:30 PM on Sunday, 3/21.
